Le pique nique rÃ©publicain Le 14 juillet dans le Parc du ChÃ¢teau de Versailles, prÃ¨s du Grand Canal, Ã partir de 11h30 A lâ??occasion du 14 juillet, le ChÃ¢teau de Versailles accueillera le public pour un grand rassemblement populaire et rÃ©publicain, autour dâ??un pique-nique organisÃ© sur les rives du Grand Canal. Fort du succÃ¨s remportÃ© lâ??an passÃ©, le DÃ©jeuner sur lâ??herbe a rassemblÃ© prÃ¨s de 8.000 convives lâ??an passÃ©, ce qui nous incite Ã en faire un rendez-vous annuel Ã cette date symbolique. Autour dâ??une consigne vestimentaire simple (le blanc), le public sera accueilli dans le Grand Parc du chÃ¢teau prÃ¨s du char dâ??Apollon, pour sâ??installer autour du Grand Canal. Nombreuses animations sur place : des fanfares dÃ©ambuleront de part et dâ??autres des rives du Grand Canal pour faire rÃ©sonner un air de grande fÃªte populaire Ã cet Ã©vÃ¨nement, un grand bal sera organisÃ© pour faire danser (musettes, salsa et bossa) les participants de lâ??apÃ©ritif au goÃ»ter ; cocardes, chocolats, spÃ©culos et autres gourmandises, seront distribuÃ©s aux visiteurs.

Yes, I agree...this scene is similar to Georges Seurat's well-known 1884 pointillism painting, 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte' (French: 'Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte'). Thank you so, so much for sharing this beautiful scene.
