Description

This image is dedicated to Laura (crys-laura). She is a very lovely and sweet girl and a close friend to me. She lives in Sao Paulo Brazil and has been studying to become a doctor. Laura is very talented and does art in Poser when she has time. Her art is beautiful and enchanting and I fell in love with her gallery the moment I saw it. You will notice she features cats in her art some of the time. Here is a story so you will know why. Laura told me many stories and this one touched me the most and shows how beautiful her soul is. Hope you like it Hun Flowers From Tiggy (For crys-laura): When Laura was a little girl she had a cute and loving cat named Tiggy. He was her best friend and they loved each other for years. Sadly when Tiggy turned eleven he became ill and soon passed on. Little Laura was devestated and Her Father Osvaldo and her both cried for days. She asked her Dad to take Tiggy to their house in the country and bury him because it is so beautiful there. A few days later Laura was cleaning up Tiggy's food. She noticed a small seed in the food that she bought from the pet store. She guarded the seed and waited for Osvaldo to come home. Laura gave her Dad the seed and asked him to plant it on top of Tiggy's grave. Months later her Dad came home from their country house with a present. He came into Laura's room and held out a small pot with a beautiful flower in it. Osvaldo looked at little Laura with tears in his eyes and said (This is the flower from Tiggy's grave, he asked me to give it to you). Laura missed Tiggy so much but his lovely gift of this flower gave her strength. Laura knew that Tiggy was safe and playing in Heaven. first, the story is exquisite, and beautifully told. Brought tears to my eyes. Second, your visual is, as always, filled with the most sensitive and intimate details. By now I already know you're going to have shoes & sandals with flowers on them (yes!), and you always do them with the most delicate flourish. And the dresses will always have wonderful detail, and you've caught the shade & furrow of her blouse and dress beautifully. Even the teddy bear has a beautiful red bow, and you have her holding him between an arm & his torso, always with interesting angles (where the fingers disappear...I'm not being 'picky', lol, I just think it's wonderful how you care about every detail, letting the fingers disappear not "around" the bear, but somewhere inside it). And the flower pot is beautiful, but you also bothered to make the most detailed sculpted shadow of it (beautiful, dave). And you've given us what I assume are personal details, maybe from your friendship with laura: The photo of her cat, the photo of her (so nicely placed & so discreet, like a signature), the cardinal (a beautiful touch!), and even the window railing feels right for the style of architecture found in South America (and you've bothered to put in a lot of details in the background building too...), the matching pinks of the 2 bureaus, and even the flat-laid brush & comb...plus your dramatic angles on her father, jutting into the piece as in a photograph. Her father's joy is so gentle, not overdone; and hers is so much like a child's, joyous and total. Beautiful work, always caring in detail; and, with the beautiful telling of the story, it's another masterful tribute to childhood with all its losses and joys. And another wonderful tribute to yet another person you love and care for. Wonderful. (Dave, my favs aren't working well...I can't seem to get text into them...but you know how I feel from this!)

This in an incredibly touching story. I've mentionned often how much I loved the way you paid tributes to your friends by telling stories of their youth. Since I started watching your gallery, I've read funny stories, lovely ones, and a few genuinely touching ones. This one nearly brought tears to my eyes. I think it's my favorite of yours so far. Thank you (and thanks to crys-laura) for sharing it with us.

Tiggy looks a lot like one of my cats (who passed on a few years ago) named Dusty. Big fat and constantly smiling tabby cat. Oh he was so handsome, it he does say it himself. And he does of coarse. I'd like to think that the cardinal is one of Tiggy's friends who has taken up the task of watching over young Laura now that Tiggy is gone. A very lovely story Dave and a nice tribute to your friend Laura. Cheers!

this brought tears to my eyes, it's so sweet, I love the pictures you have in the room. I really like that dad is kneeling down to be with his little girl; that alone is touching. losing a pet is never easy and this is a sweet way to remember him.
