Description

Stiletto Fly; Genus Ozodiceromyia. Common name refers to narrow, tapering abdomens. -Bug Guide Net After 3 days of seeing this fly in my yard, and it taking off each time I got ready to shoot it I finally caught it yesterday on my Lemon Tree. It sat for a good long photo-session of about 30 shots. Thought it was a small Robber fly the first couple times I had seen it, but after looking it up found out it was something new for me. Thanks for looking all. Have a good weekend! -Bruce

This was definitely worth waiting for. I love this, and well...I love insects so this shot is a winner on multiple levels. You have a fantastic eye for insects, and an obvious love of them, since you always seem to get their "good" sides. The details are wonderful, and the whole shot is composed perfectly. What an interesting fly as well, I've never seen one of these, but then, I've never seen quite a few things. Wonderful!

Wow! You really have the touch with insects, you make them look like jewels. My only wish is that you post bigger images...
