Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

superlative panorama! I even could spot your house in the horizon haze ;D). I'm sorry I missed this tower when I was in Kansas City, I suppose I should go back there!

Hugely impressive Bill. What appears to be the station in the middle is a great piece of architecture.Looks like one of the older buildings in town. What changes people must have seen, coming and going from there.

I did some panoramas years ago—with analog film (I worked with 2 photographers, and did the "graphic" portion of a poster). I can tell you, I know it's hard to do. Unless you're working with pro tripods, and measure & calculate perfectly, you have to fit & refit, etc. Even in digital technology I assume it takes real time & concentration. This is a fine job, a one-sweep shot, and the clarity is fine as well, considering the effects of smog. Comparing KC to Chicago, NY or LA will always make KC look smaller, but really, a city like KC is massive when you consider it on its own terms. (We always used to say, think of yourself from the 16th C.: What would you feel if you came across a city like this 'out of the blue'...) And it's typical of these huge metropolises that, even far from 'downtown', you have massive centers & complexes. The sprawl is staggering. It's huge. And it's funny, because the area you live in—from this perspective—looks like an ocean! Like you live in a boat... (you do live in a house, right? lol). A fine piece of work, fine clarity, and I applaud the pasting, etc. I'm glad you posted it large.
