Description
Rather than my usual digital explorations, I have been "analogue art-ing" these past couple of months. I have been doing a series of pieces that are done with marker on canvas. I still don't know what possessed me to try it in the first place, but it sparked a major artistic outflow. This is one of my early ones. I was using Bic Mark-It's on dollar store canvases - and those canvases are not equal. Depending on the brand, some hold the ink better than others, allowing it to "stain" as it were which thwarts my recent use of alcohol to "push" the marker around and blend it. This was done on a 20 X 16 inch canvas.
The other thing that happens is that the marker nibs/tips wear down pretty quickly. So far, it seems like the rate at which the nib wears down matches the rate at which the ink is used up :). All I need find is a finer tip black marker for finer outlining work than the regular fine Mark-It tip can do.
I have also branched out into Sharpies as of late, but they have the negative attribute of a gloss that interferes with the colour plus colours that are different on absorbent surfaces versus less porous ones such as canvas ... I think it is something to do with the gloss. If I can sell some of these I will explore higher end markers to see how they work.
I will be uploaded a few of these over the next week or so. Stay tuned.

This is totally far out, man! Great looking psychedelic design, takes me back to the '60s (when I was four). Nice work.

You have so many that I like - but I will start with this one. Great composition and balance - I like the way it fades in upper left - like it is moving on to other places. I can see that we have a bit in common. Your art is wonderful and very pleasing to look at. Always. H.
