Description

As many of you know, I recently passed my driving test, at the ripe old age of 48! I do try my best to be a good driver, I drive at 60 when thats the speed limit and 30 when thats the limit, when I park in a car park, I get out and walk around my car to make sure I'm properly in the bay. Imagine my shock therefore, when before my first month of driving I parked in a bay at my nearest local supermarket (Morrisons), came back and found a great big truck parked beside me, prohibiting me from getting in the drivers side of my car, (Picture on Right), I did wait around a bit but gave in and got into my car on the passenger side, the only way in lol! Then last week, it happened to me again, (same carpark) I parked again, at the back with 9 spaces free around me and yet again I got back to my car and could not get in on the drivers side, I stood there musing for a moment, going, 'new driver, you must have parked up like that.....duh...then how did you get out???? Again I waited for the ...um....driver.. again gave up and got in on the passenger side. Both vehicles belonged to 'professional' buisnesses, I need our kitchen fixed that buisness will never ever get my custom or anyone elses if I can help it, as for the Big truck, I cannot help them not get my buisness, they work for the local council for which we already pay council taxes :o( My husband said, "they can't help it, they just want to be close to you", somehow that didn't work, though I may have given a small smile ;o) Sorry I needed a small rant! Thanks for looking and your take on it, if it ever happened to you!!! Hugz Jen :o)

Oh! I'm so sorry that you have to deal with people like that! great pictures. Too bad you can't run them in the local papers to shame the drivers into being more courteous!

Unfortunately, this is nothing new! I also do not know like these people one and get out!? A whole parking bay can be free... If I to the car come the door is too parked basically!... What gets rid only with the people? Nevertheless, there one would sometimes like to kick to the other a bump in the door!... However, Ähm, should not be called that I do such a thing or other in addition such a thing induces to act!

I feel your pain, there. My opinion of humanity took a substantial hit once I started driving... Looks like you have a nice car though! :)

I hate when people park like that!! Absolutely no consideration of others what so ever, as if the sun actually rises and sets on their butts. You certainly had the right to rant and rave. I appreciate your sharing this, I feel better knowing I'm not the only one.

Yes this has happened to me a couple of times so I feel for you, climing over the hand brake and gear stick can be tricky especialy when there is steam coming out of your ears! makes you want to leave a note "next time you park this close to my car leave a tin opener so I can get it!!" but with a little more colourful punctuation! GRRRRRR male drivers! us women wouldn't dream of doing such a thing

When this happens to me I usually leave a note saying "Next time you park this close leave me a can opener so I can get in my car" A little sarcastic but maybe they get the message.

I used to have a supply of parking tickets with multple choice tickboxes and the one stick mentions above was one of them. In these daya of political correctness I don't suppose I'd get away with it. Drivers like that are a royal pia and in some (pay) carparks they make the bays so small that you're almost guaranteed having to shoehorn yourself in. My tip is have some step ladders in your boot (trunk for our American cousins) and get in through the sun roof, best of luck Jen!

Yeah, I can definitely identify - and why does the post office parking lot come to mind? - LOL! I used to work at a supermarket and still go there to shop and I see this kind of thing all the time! I guess in the great big scheme of things its really no "biggie" but I chalk it up to it being a test of one's sanity - of which I have failed more than once - LOL! Give yourself credit for just going in the passenger side - as you may well know there are a lot of "crazies" out there and I think you did the right (and sane) thing! Your picture also reminds me that photography can be practical as well as artistic!
