Description

Jakiblue and I have been trying to challenge one another to try improve our skills and try new things. She got tired of me bellyaching that I can't do portraits, so she challenged me to do one. Then she made it worse my suggesting I try my hand at realism. I'm actually pretty pleased with how this came out. I don't think anyone will mistake it for a photograph, but it's definitely much closer to realism than my usual. The character is the Elite Marie from DAZ. I used the Ubershader on her and added SSS. I'm quite pleased with how her skin looks. The hair is wonder Keysha Hair by OOT and Bice (Rendo). The dress is V4 Summertime by Mindvision-GDS (RDNA). The pearls are courtesy of robrose in the Freepository (thank you!). Lighting is the Uberenvironent2 that comes with DS3 Advanced. I added a spotlight to add some sparkle to her skin - very faint only 10% strength - with shadows turned on. One of the things I'm learning about the Uberenvironment is that any added lights need to be a lot less strong than I would normally use. Strong lights seem to look rather lousy. I also have a rim light. Normally I set those very strong (200%), but this one is only set to 25%. Thank you, Jaki, I learned a lot from this exercise.

This turned out really gorgeous Maraich! Love the lighting and the 'dreamy' look to her face and eyes. Looks like she is remembering a very precious event or time in her life. :) Well done! :)

you are no longer allowed to tell me you can't do portraits. Ever. laughs I think you did much better at your challenge than I am doing at the one you gave me. Her expression is perfect! And omg my first dedication! grin
