Description

Jakiblue and I were discussing how hard it is to transfer an image from our mind into an actual scene. This is a perfect example of that. I had this great vision of vast height and distance isolating a dragon on a tower from the main focus of the scene, a woman with dragon-like eyes. I worked on this for a few days but alas it's mediocre at best. In the end I probably would have been better off just leaving out the tower and the dragon and going for a basic portrait. The V4 character is Anouk by Faber Inc. (DAZ). I stole the idea of dressing her in M4's turban from Moroccan Dreams (DAZ) from Faber's promo images for Anouk. The gown and overcoat are from V4's version of Moraccan Dreams, another PC item from DAZ. The dragon is the Fork Horned Dragon by Dinoraul (DAZ). The tower is one of the towers of magic available from Meshbox (their own site and CP). The background is a sky from one of the Variant Star Epsilon by didi_mc (Rendo). For lighting I just used the Uberenvironment 2 that is included in DS3 Advanced. I tried doing some rim lighting and such but ended up just using the basic render as I liked the bluish diffuse look. This is beautiful! I agree, it is very hard to get the image exactly as we see it in our heads, and sometimes that is actually a blessing when it comes to some of the images in my head. hehe This turned out really great tho!

Sometimes the picture we have in our head is only a template for what our tools will let us create. In this case, I'd say you've created a great looking image, and regardless of what you originally pictured, you've created an excellent rendering!

Imagination is one thing and reality is another. However your realisation is excellent. Perfection is something we strive for but in reality can never achieve so we are never satisfied and that is a good thing. Keeps the creative juices flowing!

It's actually very good. You almost captured the feeling of what you desired. You could probably fix the problem by having a taller thinner tower. It would make the dragon appear much further away. Excellent though! :D

I think you did a damned good job. Might not quite be what you envisioned.. but hey we artist are perfectionist and nothing is ever quite 'complete or finished' or 100% just right. We can always see a way to improve things.
