Description

An alien environmental study, just for fun.The concept for the trees came to me in a dream this morning, and I had to try it out!The huge alien trees are actually terrains flipped upside down, and then by playing with the elevation brush in the terrain editor I created the flat,antler-like branches.I duplicated the terrain, raised it and re-worked the terrain again so it wasn't an exact copy. The texture is a modified stone preset.I duplicated this tree five times and placed throughout scene. The muddy terrain is a preset texture.Sky,lighting and atmo are custom.Three Spidergrass plants and one Suncatcher(from the Daz Alien Botanicals set)complete the foreground details, along with three rocky terrains scattered throughout.Rendered in Superfine, only post is signature. Thanks for viewing and any comments you wish to leave!

I'm scared of your dreams, Neil...LOL But if this is the kind of skillfully done creative artwork you obtain from them, then dream on, my friend. Those trees are really something; especially how you created them from terrains. The ATMOS, mats, pods and sun catcher all add to the interest of the imagery. Well done.

Wow, you do some pretty serious work in Bryce. I have to say this is the first time, you are the first artist, to show me what can really be done in Bryce, and done well...and to get a compliment on my page from you, means quite a bit. Thank you. Thomas

If those are its branches, then I wonder what the roots would look like. Great scene.

trees are genuis. I've never seen anyone flip a tree upside down so the roots are on top. Brilliant idea.
