Description
Captured 2/23/09, very early on a foggy morning, with walking distance of my dwelling.
Just for a change, and mostly because of our current heat wave, I thought I'd go back to the cooler days in February and selected one of our favorite subjects, a barren tree.
Carin should like this.
This is the same photo, with the postworked version on top; the original on the bottom, pretty much in its initial virginal stage. The postwork process used in the top shot is the same as the one I employed on the water tower a few days ago.
Tallyho, and toodles.

I love the stark shape of the branches, made even more otherworldly by the brooding postwork...nice job, Harry!

both original and postworked one are good Harry; the fog makes for me.

What ever postwork or filter you use Harry works wonders. Love the strange colorshift.

Both variations look superb. I like the mood you've captured.

Oh, you are spot on Harry - I love it! There is just something magical about barren trees etched against the sky. It is almost like arms reaching out to a higher Power - either in praise or in desperation. Both images are excellent and I agree with Shari, the fog adds to the mistery! Well seen and captured! :)

Stark beauty---there is something ethereal about bare trees.

Excellent pics, Harry!

wonderful shots

both are fine shots, the top has that strange luminosity one gets from making objects that strange purple. And the bottom (original) is quite nuanced, as the fog renders the differing distances of branches into subtle layered effects. The detail is there but so is the dissolving light of the fog. Fine capture in its own right. And I like the amount of sky in the shot too.
