Description
Back to the events on Memorial Day, captured 5/25/09, at the beautiful Los Angeles National Cemetery in beautiful West Los Angeles, California.
More than 86,000 veterans, going back to the Civil War, are interred there.
A ZOOM is strongly recommended.
These Southern warriors, ever so gracious, were both flattered and honored to have their picture taken. They were also in the parade previously shown.
Southrons, hear your country call you,
Up, lest worse than death befall you!
To arms! To arms! To arms, in Dixie!
Lo! all the beacon-fires are lighted,--
Let all hearts be now united!
To arms! To arms! To arms, in Dixie!
Advance the flag of Dixie! Hurrah! Hurrah!
In Dixie's land we take our stand, and live or die for Dixie!
To arms! To arms! And conquer peace for Dixie!
To arms! To arms! And conquer peace for Dixie
Hear the Northern thunders mutter!
Northern flags in South winds flutter!
To arms! To arms! To arms, in Dixie!
Send them back your fierce defiance!
Stamp upon the cursed alliance!
To arms! To arms! To arms, in Dixie!

They sure are mighty proud men...! The chap in the middle in the top image is almost a George Bush look alike - if he loses the moustache!!! Great collage Harry! :)

Wonderful Harry. These gents are really into reenacting. What do you want to bet that a couple of these guys have been at least extras in the movies. First class collage and your photos are beautifully sharp and crisp. Well done.

Ok are the beards and moustaches real or fake because they all have the same coloring.. Great work once again..

Now I gotta say.... Goes widely in the UK I suspect, something about the 'Rebel Southerners' draws us to them... Confederate flags, Car Number plates etc all found in the UK... There is a strong streak of independence and freedom in the UK.... sound familiar? We do like to do our own thing.... (Until recently... but don't get me on that!) Great set my friend... Love this collage! Rob.

Another excellent collage from this event, Harry; these guys seem like originals!

wonderful dignity & joy in these shots, yes these guys really look like they're into having the pics taken and dressing in these old wonderful uniforms. And you got lots of character in the 3 top shots, with the bottom one showing us one guy adjusting his glasses as if he's off camera (great touch). Nice light & nice beards too, and nice how you put group shots at top & bottom and single shots in the middle. Colorful work from you again, from this fountain of a day...
