Description

Driving west on East Monroe Street about two blocks short of the Sears Tower in "The Loop" in Chicago. All the red lights caught my eye. The Sears Towers got an official name change on the 16th of July. It is now the Willis Tower, Just doesn't have the same familiar ring to it:-) Do ZOOM. Have added a B&W version with selective coloring below the color version. You'll see some strange reflections from the inside of my windshield...but with all the grunge work of late...there's nothing to worry about right? LOL. Thanks for stopping by and all your great support, Bill:)

Love both shots, it must seem so dark in the street with those tall buildings.

I saw this when you posted it, and I thought: monumental. It's majestic. Your from-the-street pov, and allowing a long chunk of towers to loom above, really emphasizes the massivity of these buildings. And you got fine proportions, both vertically and horizontally. And lots of deep shadows created by these big high-rise conglomerates. The b&w is fascinating, yes, to let us see the red lights. But it's also beautiful in its own right, reminding us that b&w had a beauty of its own, allowing us to see just the 'tonal' elements of these shots. Both are beautiful, and it's a definite fav.
