looks like you put your picture in pastel mode, different.... just got a thought, when you haven't looked at a piece of your art for a year or so, do you remember what you were thinking when creating? ...and does it have anything to do with the picture?

I have to try Gimp more, I forget that it's one of the best programs in the field. Another lavish organic-fest from you, with faces incl one of those turn of the century men (19th-20th C), and a baby. And your quiet but luminous hues, and the weaves of forms undulating in & out of themselves. Interesting textures & highlights on the forms too, and the forms almost seem like they're zigzagging, like they have electricity in them. Mandi, I don't know if you know Monet, but his water lilies came to mind with this, because he outlined his lilies the way you outline your organic forms here. Here's a link: When you get there, click to enlarge & look at the leaves on the water: He outlines everyone to give them luminance—look especially at the bottom leaves...It's easy to dismiss Impressionism as 'pretty'; but, close up, it's filled with layers of light & dark & exquisite contrast as well as brushwork. I think you have things in common with late Monet, as well as Cezanne & even van Gogh. You're not just a surrealist & abstractionist! The Monet is here.
