Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Just as I thought:) Just goes to show, you had your priorities right! We guys said we loved our cars, but the real motive was to pick up you girls.

Great shot. I've always felt that a fancy car indicated something lacking in the actual bloke!

Yeah, those were the days, cars were still made of steel...not plastic and fiberglass. And those big engines that gave you power when you put your foot on the accelerator. Nice capture.

LOL! Yes, I was always more interested in the drivers than the cars myself...Nice crop, you've been learning from Tara, eh?

I had a good friend, all those years ago, who had a pale purple metalflake SuperSport. Oh gosh, that was a nice car! I met him before he was old enough to drive, and the last time I saw him we were about twenty, so I didn't love him for his endless string of cool cars - that was just part of who he was. This one brings back memories!!

I should have lived in your town then because the guys who drove the muscle cars in MY town were no as easy to look at as their cars. :-) But I always loved a good, fast car and I could overlook the driver if I had to just to have a chance to get behind the wheel myself. :-)

really nice lighting, Marilyn—who knew you were such a natural with car photography??? And nice sweep, and nice sheen, and nice angle. A fine shot, all around. (And I assume the car wasn't silhouetted quite this alone: I assume you did work to get it so isolated. It's an awfully strong capture.) You're blowing my mind with this series: It's like you took Hawaii, the Merced & your beautiful home environs, and internalized them into these cars. These pics have power!
