Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

A long, long time ago, I can still remember how the music used to make me smile. And I knew if I had the chance, that I could make those people dance, and maybe they'd be happy for a while. Me too! Great shot.

another stunning shot, and you caught a subtle 'gritty' quality to the light, almost as if it were painted on: Either through the lens, the lighting, the closeness, whatever you might have done to sharpen, etc etc, you've made it into a big 1960s/70s American Pop art or Abstract Expressionist piece, there's a lot going on in those chrome plates. Almost has a touch of Jasper Johns in it. (I can send you some pics if you don't know him well, or don't remember. His American flag series comes to mind with the bold hues & reflections here...) Fine close up. My eyes are dancing from this series.
