Description

An underground transit system to link subsurface complexes in open terrain habitations. Pressurised tunnels would be either excavated by drilling out, or trench and cover methods depending on the topography, then stabilised by internal shotcreting to provide a continuous gas-tight seal. The tunnels also provide a conduit for essential piped and wired utility services to be connected to the habitat complexes, while allowing fast personnel transport between outlying units, well-protected from surface radiation and micrometeorite impacts.
