Description
I saw something in our newspaper a year or so ago about a photographer that did something like this, resizing a picture width-wise, and it was really neat. I wish I could remember his name .. but remembering my own is enough, don't you think?LOL. I thought I'd try it too, with this picture from the Hollow, taken two weeks ago when we were there. I thought I'd post the original and the narrowed one together, so you could see what I was talking about, it turned out pretty neat. It probably is really cool with buildings, too.
Thank you all for stopping to see the previous post, for the delightful comments, and the faves.
I've been doing a lot of weed pulling and reading, so haven't spent a lot of time in the galleries. We've been having rain, rain, and more rain, so the weeds are growing like, well, weeds, and there just is no keeping them under control!
Going to try to start catching up with all your beautiful work tonight, wish me luck, grins, as I'm SO far behind!

WONDERFUL!!!

It is an interesting effect, but I personally like the untouched version. It is does show the beauty of the place and more detail. But love the presentation of both. Well done!

I can see why you go back there so often, that place is gorgeous! Interesting concept here with the width-wise version, though I think it doesn't translate well when used for forests and such...

it's a fine experiment Rita because both versions bring a different view of the same lush scene. The condensed one emphasizes the verticals & their looming presence, while the full one is just open & lush. Yes a wholly verdant & serene place, and a verdant & serene capture. It feels wonderful, your light bathes & caresses, and your frames gentle yellow-green is perfect. We don't have hollows in Chicago, I can see I'm missing a lot...

Great capture and motif, Rita. It surely is a wonderful place that Hollows... pure food for the soul. Cool framing technique, even if the aspect ration suffers a bit.. Great and original idea. .. and Godd luck #;oD

Rita you have started a new craze here, this really is neat as you put it and such a great idea to put both pictures up as I think it adds to the artisticness, if there is such a word, well you know what I mean. I just love your hollow it really is a very special and beautiful place. hugs Jane xxx
