This is for you Robert, knowing you are a mountaineering fanatic, this Silberhorn summit in the Swiss Alps had been spotted and cherished by J.R.R. Tolkien as he was camping near Mürren in 1911 as "the Silvertine of my dreams".

And Silvertine of course being one of the three Mountains of Moria in The Lord of the Rings. So this mountain is actually the place where Gandalf battled the Balrog! Now when I see it I understand everything..

splendid shot! my brother has just come back from an attempt at Mont Blanc.. conditions were too rough when they got near the summit... 2 years, 2 nearlies.. next year should do it ;) love the lighting and composition here

Bonsoir Jean-Luc, Je constate encore une fois que plus une image est banale et plus l'artiste est récompensé et lorsque l'image est le fruit d'un travail intense c'est l'effet inverse :( ... de quoi devenir dingue! A quoi bon investir tant de temps pour encourager certains artistes pour ne rien obtenir en retour; pas même un petit merci de temps en temps????? Je vois certains supers artistes quasiment ignorés...:( Tout cela me rend bien triste ...:( Concernant ton image:c'est le top, la limite de la perfection: est-ce une photo, du TG Bryce...Vue...et bien non! c'est le fruit du travail d'un photographe de très haut niveau! >Fav évidemment :) Merci pour le partage, Amicalement, Lior
