Description

The third of what I hope will be a nice series of images of my recent trip to Colorado. This shot was taken at the base of the Twin Peaks formation about 3,500 feet above Ouray, Colorado, up the valley to Imogene Basin, which is roughly six miles south of Ouray and is the bowl in which Camp Bird Mine sits. The mine is not visible in this photo. At first I was disappointed in the decay in the atmosphere that caused the colors to be a bit off, but I realize, after checking for all color correction and my recollection of the evening this was taken, that this is pretty accurate. I therefore decided to go with it just this way. This was just minutes before the sun went down, and there was haze from a couple of forest fires not too far away. Probably more than any of you wanted to know. :)
