Description

These original woodies, as they came to be known, had real wood on those sides. They were heavy vehicles, terribly fuel inefficient, but wow, walk about iconic!! The early 60's saw them become the vehicle of choice for surfers. They were cheap, big, with lots of room for boards--and surf babes, no doubt!!

Excellent POV maz, those reflections in the mahogany or rose wood or whatever are beautiful...Hey white wall tyres, those were pure "look at me!" Two girls for every boy I bought a '30 Ford wagon and we call it a woodie (Surf City, here we come) You know it's not very cherry, it's an oldie but a goodie (Surf City, here we come)

Actually, compared to what I have sitting in my auto foto files, a much later version of the celebrated wagon. Stellar POV employed to capture the colorful effects of the woodie part, Missy Maz!

a beautiful capture, Marilyn, your light & sweep are in beautiful balance, you silhouetted it with total black, which makes the reflections of photographers & viewers in the car (you among them?) even more arresting; and your capture of glass, chrome, woody elements & angle all make for a modulated, sensitive, and beautiful shot. I really love this. Another fav. (And btw, where I come from, a "woodie" wasn't a car! I'll let you figure out what it was...I don't wanna give you an x rating...)
