Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The carburetor air filter looks like it's heating up and generating its own light in this splendid capture, Missy Maz! Love the shiny reflections and refractions on the lid.

yeah, lol andrea, carin & tara. Tara would capture some small portion of the filter, and make it into a big bold journey for the eye...Well of course this is from a '64 Impala, it's wayyyy too advanced to be the '63, and anyone can see that the chassis is pre '65! (Marilyn? I don't know what the ___ I'm talking about. Every so often I need to sound car-smart, go along with me...) I didn't know engines could be that smooth—ie, where are all the 'parts'?—but it sure has tubes running in & out, and that filter is highlighted so it looks like a space ship, or maybe a marina-center for boats that float on engines: Point is, it's another of your shots where the familiar becomes new & bold and feels like a visitation for the eye. I love the color & light of that filter against the shiny red of the rest of the engine...
