I sit here in amazement that I am sharing my 1000th post with you here on Renderosity.
For those of you who might be curious (obviously I was!), it is my 835th post to the Photography Gallery.
The mind boggles. (Well, okay, MY mind boggles!)

Last weekend when I went to MooseRidge Gardens with Cindy and Ann, we sat and had lunch with Cindy's friend before we walked around the gardens. As we got up from the table, Cindy said, "I can't wait to see what sort of pictures you get from those glass floats over there."
"Glass??" I said, my interest perking up to maximum. I had been sitting with my back to the pool, and didn't even know it was there. This was the first image I shot at MooseRidge, and it's my favorite.
I love the reflection of the clouds, the way the light plays with the glass ball, the surface tension, the FEEL of the thing!
So ... many thanks to Cindy for a wonderful day, for introducing Ann and I to her friend, for the opportunity to see the garden, and for pointing me in the direction of this shot!
Oh, and btw ... MooseRidge is a private home, not a B&B or a restaurant. I believe some of you got the wrong idea when you saw how extensive the place is. We just went and had lunch with Cindy's friend who owns the place and is the genius behind the garden design.

After 1000 images and a little more than 2-1/2 years, I am still happy to be here. Renderosity rocks! I can't tell you how much pleasure it gives me to be a part of this community. Many thanks to all of you for your inspiration and support, and for being a part of my life here!

Milestones are fun and make you flip back through your pages to recall where you've been for the last couple of years. When you upload daily as you do, your stream of photographs must bring back a lot of memories...Oh, I remember that outing with... You've established a real coherent body of work with your own style and grace. Bottom line is quality over quantity and you continue to succeed along those lines. Oops, almost didn't say how much I like the floating glass ball...light, reflections, shapes, shadows and the liquid feel to the entire thing. Now, do we get to throw you in the pool for the 1000th upload? LOL

tara, as you know I love this image, it's this complex shimmering ball floating in a big blue 'sea' (the marvels of photography, how it can make a small pond into an ocean). And the crackled golds against those blue-greens are wonderful. A pure tara shot. But you also know how much I love this place, this gallery, this piece of your heart & soul. Your work is so amazingly complex, yet it has such a direct impact on the heart; you're classical yet lush & opulent; you work within such amazingly confined spaces yet you're greatly expansive & have such a feel for the sensual; you have classic detail and respect for light & shade, yet you post almost paintings in their lushness and flow and freedom; and you posted those 165 "other" posts, paintings, digital drawings, and of course your wonderful writing which I've had the privilege of seeing & reading since coming here, with all your passion and wonderful way with packed phrases and 'jewel' lines...lushness & haiku-like purity in one. You love art, it's all over your gallery; and your friendships here shine like the sun on a cloudless day. It's great to see all this, you're a real gem, and we're all privileged to have you here. I haven't commented in many days but I'm gonna try to make that up soon. Congratulations on a wonderful gallery, and a place oozing with light & love. Here's to thousands more! Hugs from that guy over in 2D, six feet to the left of the boiler room where the lights are always on and, well, the art is always weird but heartfelt! You have a lifetime pass—no charge.
