Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

We would always put a bell of some sort on the top of the pole so when the fish tugged, it would alarm us. So we drank more beer while waiting... Interesting capture. Aloha

A foggy morning at the beach. Last year I learned to "surf-cast" at my cousin's at the eastern most tip of Long Island (110 miles east of New York City). You've caught the essence of the whole thing right here.

The name of a song made long ago with Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong. Stellar ambiance in this shot, Missy Maz! Love that mist!

This is a great scene in the mist. Love the cliffs, all the poles and the way the sand has drifted. Fabulous! Dana

I'm only doing spot-commenting tonight...I'll sleep more, then return...but I loved this shot when you posted it & love it as much now. It's thoughtful, you captured beautiful blue grays—a real "sea" shot—I love the peak on the left, and that you left-in that big chuck going straight up. (I love that choice.) I love the verticals of the rods playing against the haze; and the open space you left at the edges...you play with light & shade beautifully, and capture a mood of profound reflection & quiet absorption. It's as passionate as your other work, just in quieter hues. I'll be back for more, Marilyn, but this is one of those pictures that speak 'marilyn', showing that even in subdued grayish blues you still get an intense vision of humanity. A fav...another piece of your deep heart & soul...
