This is what I see when I look at this gorgeous lioness - power and purpose. I guess one can also add pride and perseverance and perfection... She was a truly inspiring sight and I could have easily just sat there and looked at her for the whole day! If you zoom, you can actually see the car's reflection in her eye!!! Thanks you for popping in for a visit and for your very valued comments and favs on my upload of the King and I... Your love and support is much appreciated! We had rain throughout SA since Friday night (most unusual this time of year) and here where I live, we had ice rain (sleet) yesterday! It is freezing cold and all outdoor plans had been cancelled for the weekend... So, warm hugs from a freezing Johannesburg! Carin xx

The pride of the pride! Stellar colors, clarity and textures in this capture of the magnificent lioness, Carin, probably ruminating over the needs of her cubbies and where else to go to make a kill. I don't know, maybe I'm being provincial, but I just can't reconcile myself to the fact that the female has a beard. And here it's hot and dry as the devil!
