Description
Is it serious, doctor?
The trouble is that I can't see most places, and I can't remember them without framing them through my camera objective. If I can't do it, I frame them at least through my mental eye. Now, even people are being framed through this virtual frame, when I look at them. Is it serious, doctor?
The fact that I'm behind the camera gives me a position of power over my surroundings. I have a power of definition through my framing. Sometimes, however, I get caught by myself. Here I was trying to overcome the reflections on the model boats, calculating the reflection angle of the glass surface. The boats were clear, but I was captured together with the background reflection of the opposite side of the street. I saw my person, with my two cameras, only when I was at home.
BTW, I love model boats, because my dad made them, though they were mostly galleons and frigates. Flavia and me have a fleet at home. This shop window is in Bremen, Germany.
I like this play of reflections, because they give the idea of how memories, personal or otherwise, tend to overlap.
Thank you for your kind comments.
