Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Elegant composition!! The sand has the colours of a certain type of shot silk.

Capital contrast in this stellar capture of the serpentine stick, Missy Maz! Yes, it does look a bit like a snake. Plus, terrific multicolored sand texture!

Thumbnail caught my eye and I had to add this to my catch-up list. The title is humorous, the stick interesting and the grains of sand fascinating. I bet walking barefoot along this beach feels great.

before I comment, it's nice to see bill here from before his surgery, and so nice to know that he's doing so well now...anyway, a very basic, almost zen shot, and like tara says, a curved stick along sand curves, playing off each other; and all those alternating lights & colors in the sand. Very basic, the kind of image people would use for meditation. Fine piece of work, Marilyn. Very 'minimalist', but your hues are anything but!
