Hi and thanks for looking. The pic above is of me at the TIGERÂ TEMPLE in Thailand First a little about me. Â I am male, Â in my 60's, Â living in Melbourne Australia. I worked as a machinist for over 40 years after serving a five year apprenticeship, seven years in the rope industry and thirty eight in the glass container industry. My main hobby has been photography ( I developed my first film ( with supervision ) when I was eight years old.) Â Sooo many years ago. I first saw poser through a friend and I was impressed. Â Poser 2 was my first purchase. It was so amazing being able to set lights and pose a model that did not complain about the cold, discomfort, taking so long, am I going to get paid for this? I have been playing with Poser, Bryce and Painter ever Since, Â thank you for reading. Live forever, Â or die trying

You know, I really don't get this whole dynamic that's going on around here with some people and how they react to comments and ratings and whatever. sigh ANYWAY... Nice galleon! I love the lighting. Excellent work. Have a nice vacation.

Lovely and serene image Noel! Maybe its that incredibly exotic sky that really draws me into the scene, making me wish I was there on that ship. On a side note, its really sad when someone sets the criticize flag allowed, then gets easily offended and takes a drastic reaction such as deleting their entire gallery. That individual is just over sensitive and hypocritical. Yet it ends up hurting us as a community two fold: had one of us not made that comment the event would not have happened, and secondly, now it makes us feel like we have to walk on egg shells, second-guessing our natural impulse to comment in eachothers galleries, or send comments / critique in private, not knowing how the next artist might receive that said comment. So hey, don't let it get you down, and don't let it stop you or anyone else here from continuing to comment. It happens to the best of us. Passing on the comments and critique is the life spirit and atmosphere of the renderosity gallery community. Its what encourages and inspires us to keep rendering and posting our creative ideas. Even the short and simple comments fuel us to keep on rendering, because even those kind comments feel good inside to receive. Even the critique is always positively constructive. The moment we all start second guessing ourselves when tempted to leave a comment or a p.m, will be the moment this community as a whole will start to lose its best qualities. I hope you have a wonderful vacation, and that this unfortunate incident will be forgotten, so you can resume commenting again. Have a good one Noel, perhaps i'll have a few new renders uploaded by then, awaiting your comments. Your comments and p.m's are always appreciated. :)

Dear Friend, As to the comments ... I think they are always welcome and do not really know why all this controversy. We must learn to filter the comments, or just off them. Not sending my work to this site to receive comments, but to share and learn with other artists the comments are natural and are part of the process ... is what I think. Fantastic job in Bryce...love old ships, excellent background. Happy holidays and big hug. Orlando

Happy holiday hello my friend, I have rather a criticism of my work as an "excellent" the hundred different pictures together, even though the work and the quality made it totally different sind.Es are people here every picture with 3 different words to assess excellent, nice, lovely. Sorry my English and have a nice vacation. Greetings Max

Simple but a very beautiful render. As far as the situation with this other person, don't let it get to you. If that person can't handle some constructive criticism they should have checked the box for non-critical comments or not display their work at all if they're insecure about it. I myself am guilty of just freaking out because someone else said something or did something and I deleted my gallery about six months ago. Now I think back and it seems so trivial and I wish I hadn't deleted my gallery but that's life. They'll get over it. Have a nice vacation. :)

that's a nice looking ship:) as to the criticism thing I reckon it's the only way that people learn - I wouldn't worry about it if I were you:)

Hi great work whats with this B/sht i vote for you you vote for me only good comments wanted let your art speak for its self every piece I do is perfect to me not to others we all see things differently i would rather a comment/suggestion be true at least I can learn from it, so of the soapbox really good scene and well done.

the sky reminds me of the Northern lights. the water and ship are beautiful

Very cool atmosphere! The water material is good also. As far as the comments go, personally, I find the critical comments better than just saying "Great job." At least with a critical comment, you know they actually looked at your picture. I find criticism in any learning process necessary to growth. Whenever I get a suggestion on one of my renders, I always take the time to re-look at my work, and try to see it from their perspective. I don't always agree with them, but often I come away with a different way of looking at things. Whenever an artist puts a render in their gallery, there is an option to allow constructive criticism. If they couldn't take it, then they should have unchecked the box...
