Description

After staring at all the stairs that have been uploaded recently I thought I would enter the fray with another contribution. This ornate set of spiral stairs in the Benedictine Abbey of Melk (Austria), connects the library to the Church ... But ... it's not what it seems .... it's a tromp l'oeil ("trick of the eye") - there is a mirror at the bottom (and top) of the stairs, which only go down one flight. If you try this picture with a flash all you see is a reflection of your flash - I know I tried !!! 8-) Moz.

Excellent picture, wonderful changing of light, warm colours. If you wouldn t tell the case of the mirror, nobody would know! They always stay nice and fascinating, the spiral staircases! If you are interested, I placed one myself recently from Riga.

There is no other word for this than "fabulous." You obviously got the perfect POV to make this beautiful staircase climb to infinity. The marble is really pretty, too. Great shot.
