Description

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison River again. This one is a particularly nice 2,000-foot-plus sheer wall that has really pretty cross-strata that the naked eye sees as a large mosaic of rock that is really striking. It's always been a bit tricky to capture it, but, with the wall temporarily in shade while the sun goes behind a cloud, a lot of the more subtle coloration comes through in the image. I have just a few more shots from my trip back home to Colorado that I'll share in the next few days. All comments welcome.

Amazing place! I like the bit of light on the river just before it disappears, and composition is just perfect.
