Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I remember this pasture. It is fun "walking" with you back here for a look around. Nature rules...particularly where the sea is concerned. This is beginning to look desolate. Hard to imagine that not long ago sweet grass grew here for cows.

I see Bill likes :)...Nice one Maz, love the tones you chose. Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above, Don't fence me in. Let me ride through the wide open country that I love, Don't fence me in. Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze, And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees, Send me off forever but I ask you please, Don't fence me in. Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle Underneath the western skies. On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder Till I see the mountains rise. I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses And I can't look at hovels and I can't stand fences Don't fence me in. The great Bing Crosby again mazzer :)

Actually, this should be titled, "Don't fence me in #2," because you've used the title before. Ennyweigh, a reminder of the tireless efforts of nature to reclaim its own as portayed in this fine photo, Marilyn!

I also thought that the colors were the strength of this photo. Mother Nature always wins. Dana

the fence is wonderful, all half buried and wending around as it does, almost oblivious to the action around it; but the colors are equally so, a very vivid mix of hues running in bands, both in the focussed & non-focussed sections. It's really a small symphony. More coaxing the power out of a place & moment from you...
