Description

... yup I have to say it so far... I love PoserPro 7... Girl on our viewing left, rendered in PoserPro7, middle girl rendered in PoserPro7 but using the undocumented and SmithMicro unsupported global illumation feature built into Poser7. This feature is accessible through "Advanced Render Settings", a product at RDNA. The right hand girl, is a Poser 8, 32bit, slow render using global illumination. Though she has the smooth skin I like, and the soft shadows, when comparing them, "I" know what I like. Anyways, this would not have all happened without the incredible character "Alexandria" from 'Silver' or the amazing "Hesperia Hair" from '3Dream' and 'Mairy', thanks you guys! Cheers for the view, your call, but I'll wait for PoserPro 2010 for a faster render time. Did I mention I really hate their new content library system yet, bring back the old, or at least make it an option. Deane

The ONLY thing keeping me from returning it is that they're going to give a discount for the Poser8 purchase on 2010, along with an invitation to beta test. The library is what's really making me crazy...I can't see those little match heads they call thumbnails, so you have touch each and every thumbnail and it doesn't move easily. I don't know about you, but I compare them to see which one I want to use. I can't do that now. Not with this---I have to have P3dO open and working ALL the time I'm in Poser now. And that blows---go here, follow in another application....it's a royal PIMA. And I don't care WHO created it, I can't stand the UI...the floaty pallets about drove me around the bend because I run everything on my entire computer with my wacom (except typing)---and they don't get along too terribly well. I just keep going straight back to P7Pro. I like this app---have since day one. Well, enough whining---love the render!! :D

Of the three ladies, I like the left hand one for the richer & warmer colours. the one on the right looks like she was rendered under fluoresent lights at the meat counter of Bohacks! the one in the middle is the compromise of the two! Unfortunately, my computer will not support Poser 7 or PoserPro. I'm not even sure I could use Poser 6. Good luck!

Almost looks like the gamma is too high on the P8 one Deane. I use the GI for P7 too (works really well). I can't use the new library on my Mac cos the find is incomplete on my P7 downloads runtime (only finds about 1-2% of the content), there are several of us with the same problem. Plus it renders sooooo slow! So yep not sure about P8 yet..

Hmm...I'm still sort of torn, they all look great, but...well, you know what you like, and if you're as organized with your library content as I am I bet it would throw me for a loop, too.

Poser Pro 7? Is that just the Poser Pro that came out a while ago? That's what I'm using now. Doesn't sound like I should be upgrading to 8 anytime soon, eh? Thanks for the examples.

The one on the left, because the Poser8 one looks washed out. I prfer the 7Pro above every version i have had.. And im not not all that exceted about the 2010 thing either. Man what out 3 day? and you are tersting it out.. Push it to its limits and see what 8 can do. LOL Then let us enjoy you amazing creations! Great comparision!

I agree totally with Deane... the best render, IMO, is the P7 Pro... But if about operation we start to talk, I must say that I have since Poser 4 to Poser 7 and all the time I use Poser 6 for work... even major part of my renders are from Poser 6 too... I think I will not distract any penny for Poser 8... at least till my "Fetiche Renderers and Masters" say that worth the change LOL... Why old things must be changed???? Oldies are good too :)

I,d never let becoming abeta tester be an incetive to puschase at reduced price or even free software its hard to get serious about beta versions, when they can crash or some other thing. I think I'll stick with what I've got just now. You havebeen very enlightning Deane I appreciate you informing us of these things I think smithmicro should have done that!! But hey! why should they, they only want your cash!!

I would have to say the one on the left is definitely richer and more life like. The other two are too washed out. Especially the P8 one.

I think I like the middle one the best but the one on the right does have a lovely soft finish. A lovely model and worth seeing her 3 times.
