I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.Â

A great subject and place to have captured.... really cool to have that bit of information and yet, to see this place when it's so solemn and quiet... most peaceful, taken with a most delightful, almost welcoming perspective! Beautiful capture!

Thanks for the information, they were very helpful. Great POV, great pic and a wonderful piece of old architecure. It seems as if they keep the modern cars out. A good idea; I know some places here they should do so, too....
