Okay, another left turn out of marker on canvas to gouache on paper. I apologize now for the quality. In order to maintain the size and still let the details show, I had to compress the bejeezus out of it. The actual size of the scroll is 8.5 X 11 inches. I belong to The Society for Creative Anachronism, and as such, there are a lot of medieval things including awards which often come with scrolls. I did this scroll for a friend of ours. Rather than going strictly medieval, I decided to personalize the scroll to suit the person receiving it - hence the wolf theme. I know the two wolves up by the tree are not the best, but I feel I made up for that with the wolf face in behind the text. There are also over 90 paw prints in the border, each individually painted with gold gouache and outlined in black. The whole thing was given a coat of fixative. In case you were curious, the blank spaces at the bottom were for the "royal" signatures and seal. And as a side note, I was chastised for not having done scrolls sooner :).
