Description

Okay, so maybe not QUITE what Marie had in mind when she uttered the now infamous quote, but I thought it was particularly fitting. And, yes, this is WAAAAAYYYYY outside my norm....by ANY definition, but I just felt like showing off and having a little fun. Just a 'vanity shot' of a cake I made -- a yummy Lemon Poppyseed with a fresh lemon custard filling. A rather labor intensive cake for just Summer fare, taking two days to complete, but a labor of love well worth it when you bite into it. Okay, my ego is stoked enough, next time I promise another render of a member of the Royal Court of Clerin! Right now though....I think I'm going to go raid the fridge! I ate some leaves when I was a child last year. they did not taste all that good, but they are a good source for chorophil I am told by the vioces in my head, but do not take their word as they have been known to lie and give bad advise.

LOL!! Yes, folks, those ARE real leaves....MINT leaves! Mostly just for ornimentation, but they are edible and quite refreshing too. ;-) Most folks just pick them off though and eat the cake.
