Description
This wildflower is widespread in central and southern Alberta. In the mountains and foothills, the color varies from scarlet to reddish orange, and sometimes yellow. In aspen parkland they are rose or pink shades. I became interested in our wildflowers when my Grandparents took me for a drive in their old pickup along a lakeshore road one day (I was probably about 12), and we came back with a bouquet of all kinds including the Paintbrush and wild Tiger Lilies.
