Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Badlands is right! Ultra stellar capture, especially of the massive and rocky foreground, Jodie! Love the clarity, lighting and textures of that particular area, and a fine DOF vis-a-vis the background. Are those Chevys I see out in the distance?

Incredible to see the layered strata in the rock formations, it must have been a life enriching experience to see so many landscapes all in one trip.

a rich layered shot, not just because of the beautiful layers in the stone (as Piet points out) but because you caught 3 layers of landscape & the life in it: the rocks (with people), the stretch of long open land, and the mountains in the background...and the road which connects them all. (It's like a big ribbon between them.) I really like the shadow & lighting in front, and I love that you gave us very little sky—accentuating the endless landscape of the Badlands. (I was there, I never forgot it!) Looming & mysterious & majestic, I love the levels of capture. The hills really do seem to just 'start'. If this is just the beginning of your uploads, I can't wait to see the rest. I hope everyone sees it full size, because it's sweeping. And btw, are the two people on the rocks P & M? (Nice to have them, whoever they are: They give us the scale of these craggy formations.)
