Description

Hello all. "And now for something completely diffrent, A Photograh of a Rock Band." Today I got to go out and take lots of pictures and even some video but the video didn't turn out so good..Go figure. First we went to a fish fest by a pond and had fish. we walked around the pond and took lots of nice pictures and such! Then this evening we went to another fest by the rock quarrry near the city where I live. I thought this was a the best of those pictures because I didn't have a tri pod or anything. I just had to set the camera down on a steel barrel and hope it didn't move to much! I like how the guy in the center stayed relitivley motionless through the long (film) exposure just using only availble light and no flash. I think the way that he is so motionless gives the fact tht the others are moving a base of reality and gives the eyes something that it can recognize as human. Worked this a bit in post to crop, color contrast and to straighten the picture out (it was crooked!) I have always like this type of time lapse images of cars on the street at night showing the lighting streaking across the picture and stuff like that. ----------------------------------------------- NOW something else I wanted to talk about for awhile now! I noticed in a discussion group on the FACEBOOK page for Renderoity that a lot people would like to get more than just a compilmentry "nice image" or "good job" as a comment for the efforts. And would like to have true honest critisim and suggestions on how to improve in there skills set! So if some of you newer people start to notice that I actually give you some critisim or suggestions on how a picture could be improved. Please do not take it as a personal attack and that I am honestly only trying to help you! I will not do this on all images but if I have the time and the inspiration to do it I will try to give a more detailed critiuqe of your artwork. Now I'm not saying by any means that I'm better or more talented it's just that I feel I have an inate ability to be able to do this. Call it a natrual talent or just my ego I don't know. So as long as I don't get any hate e-mail sent back from anyone I will proceed in this manner from now on. thank you and have a weekend. on me! Chris

Great one here Chris and gotta say your right about the way the guy in the center remaining motionless really adds a cool effect to it.

I've seen the effect of a stationery person amongst moving people often on tv. It works very well here in your still. I also like the hazy effect round the bright lights, very nice work!

Yeah great effect, I've always been curious about this technique and next time I'm in London I'm gonna try it from up high at night and watch the lights dance. That one guy staying still tho - was he asleep lol? Fair cop on the comments. I've been here for a few years now and you notice that certain people just leave "excellent" on EVERY image in the gallery. It's nice that they do that, but I prefer a critique/tips/hints etc. I also like mikeersons humour lol. Just take a look at the art charts, some really ordinary artists appear on there because most of us (be honest) respond to a comment with a comment. If more of us take time to comment properly it WILL improve.
