Description

Hello all, it's me again. Story: Now that the Americans have gained air superiorty over the city. The soldiers wait outside the local headquarters for the impending attack by the allied forces. They know they can not hold out for long three of them are already wounded They are running low on ammo and food. The largest calibre weapon they have is a Machine Gun 42. But they will obey the last ordewr given to them by their Ober Kommander. "there will be no retreating and no surendering!" INFO: The MG 42 has one of the highest average rates of fire of any single-barreled man-portable machine gun, between 1,200 and 1,500 rpm, resulting in a distinctive muzzle report. Sometimes called a "Burp Gun" by the americans because the way they sound when they are fired. The big gun in the middle that is knocked out is The 88 mm gun (eighty-eight) it was a German anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery gun. They were widely used throughout the war by the Germans, and could be found on almost every battlefield. This time not so serious just picked up the VOGELZWEI form the store and was having so much fun with it. I think this is new record of the most people in one render for me. The 88 mm gun in the center was made using Bazzes 88Flak Cannon and the 88mm flak cannon dollie set from Vanishing Point in the freebies section. That is the peice that inspired this whole image actually cause after I made it, well of course I had to use it. There are a lot of little details in this like empty shells on the ground around some of the soldiers and such. Thanks for visiting and as always comments good and bad are always welcomed. Thank you so much evryone on the favs and the heartfelt comments I receved on my last upload. have a great Weekend BEST DETAIL SEEN WHEN ENLARGED Chris

Great scene, plenty of detail. You must have been pushing DAZ to the max with so many characters and props! The 88 rocks - I was over in Normandy last month and got some great pics of one - I might post one to my profile. I like the grainy feel to this and it's an effective scene - I recently watched Downfall and it reminds me of the defense of Berlin portrayed in that film. It was a fascinating time for sure. I didn't realise the MG42 was nicknamed the "Burp" gun lol. But it does have a distinctive noise when it fires! So a fine render in summary - it's given me a few ideas!
