Description
This image is the result of a challenge between Jakiblue, InfinityRain and myself. We thought it would be fun to challenge one another to try to stretch ourselves a bit. This time around we had to create an image of an adventuring party that had at least five members. In my case, it's an adventuring party of four that is in the midst of acquiring their final member, a very young and somewhat intimidated warrior called Elladan.
I've done images with Elladan before, but this is one that takes place much further back in his past when he was young, naive and completely lacking in any magic skill. He's literally stepped off the boat here, and was immediately latched onto by a gregarious halfing that was eager to have him join her crew for a life of adventure and infinite fame.
She exaggerated just a little.
It's all a bit much for a young elf that has never seen any sort of person besides other elves. A human, a halfling, a dwarf and a half-orc?!! Definitely out of his comfort zone.
I lost track of the number of layers I did for this image. While I was able to run renders with all of the figures at one time, I did a separate render for all of the lighting. I did two different renders for the candles and the fireplace, one LDP2 render for overall lighting, two different front light renders done with basic distance lights. One run was done with a bluish light and the other an pale orange light. I did a blue back light. Then I mashed them all up together in PS at various strengths and layer styles and eventually ended up with what you see here.
The figures I used are rather varied. Elladan is M4, the dwarf is V3, the halfling is V4, the human mage by the fireplace is Stephanie Petite, and the half orc rogue is V4. Including some of the older gen figures helped with the poly count in the scene, and also gave me access to a few clothing items that don't get seen all that much anymore.
I just don't have the ambition to list every clothing item, so if there is something you would like to know about please feel free to PM me. I'm lazy but would never wish to leave someone in the dark.

oh my! i LOVE this! Lighting is excellent - and you've captured a brilliant array of expressions on everyone. I keep grinning when i look at the human and imagining her thoughts, while the look on the half-orc's face is killing me! You've blasted the challenge out of the water, girl! I'm still only on my second character - LOL. Fantastic - well done!
