Description

"At least one of my parents must have been from the south, or so it would seem from my colouration - light-eyed and tallow-skinned, the pallor of my face made the more striking by the mop of coarse, black hair that frames it. Not a pretty face, if truth were known, gaunt, strong-featured, almost androgynous, with a wide mouth and a nose that could have been described as aquiline had not a sharp blow somewhat bent it several years ago..." Much better version of 'Portrait'. I've captured the essence of the character much better in this one. I was going for a 'classical portrait' look with lots of subtle tones in the shadows. I've also tweaked the texture and bump maps to, among other things, improve the mapping of the tattoo. Rendered in Poser 4 with Daz's 'Stephanie', Kozaburo's 'Chignon for Vicky'. Eye-patch from the Daz 'Pirate pack'. Jacket is Vicky's polo shirt. Earrings are the standard Poser 'torus' props. Post-rendered in Photoshop.

Amazingly good-- no, not good, great. there's a teensy spot near the corner of her eye that looks too smooth, almost a complete small circle. And that's all I can find wrong with it at all.

If this character had more detail and personality I would expect her to climb out of the monitor. Ecxellent work!

Excellent portrait render! I love the sharp angular lines of the face and the blemishes and scar add an amazing degree of realism.

Excellent work, it has oodles of character and style. If there is anything I can put my finger on, it would be the eyes. They seem a tad flat. Was this rendered in Poser or some other program???

Thank you to everyone for the kind comments. Carnifex - it was rendered in Poser itself. There were actually three renders in all, with slightly different lighting each time. These were then composited in Photoshop at varying levels of transparency and layer mode, sometimes erased back through to the underlying layers to build up the subtleties of tone. Thanks again for looking.
