Description

This is our back yard deck at the peak of Summer's growth. The back yard has a substantial bluff on it, so the deck was designed on two different levels with a winding staircase connecting the two. Julia and I planted well over 300 caladiums this year, which adds to a nice tropical look. But because Memphis is too far north they all must be dug up before the first freeze, or they're gone! A lot of work, but it's worth it.

OMG... dig them all up? Are you both insane? Holy cow. There are many lovely plants for each region. I beseech your inner gardener to find some native zone plantings that will inspire your creative heart, make for a beautiful landscape and leave more time for drinking red and hanging with the gal o' your dreams!
