Description
I scanned this one from a print of a slide I made in the 1980s in Co. Donegal, Ireland. It was the period when I turned over every Irish stone, and I found these old fishing nets in a village on the Splendid Donegal coast. Looking at their bright orange colour, and the clumps of daisies, I can hear singing Paddy Boy in the background. I dedicate this shot to Declan, who hasn't been well recently. I hope you feel better now. BTW, I really should try to scan my old Irish photos one of these days, but it's a Herculean task, because I'm an obsessive shooter! ;D)

it would be great to see the original slide (if only transparencies could show directly on a computer screen!) It's a rolling undulating shot of all kinds of sea-stuff, and that wonderful orange net with the rope, the flower patches, the crate, etc etc, strewn across it at random. A very rich shot, and even with the faded focus (as we go back), it has a richness & clarity all the same. I have heard so much about Decie, and have only been in his gallery once (no reflection on him, but on my difficult schedule); but I wish him all the best & hope that as I write this he is better. A fine get well wish. Big, rich & rolling image & the hues are eye-popping...
