Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

you got the rhythm of blues-speech, the repetition, the cries, the joy & the call to join & shout & dance. Probably the blues came out of field hollers & work songs & of course some spirituals thrown in, so your style is in harmony with its roots. And the visual is kind of striking and super real with those colored upper shirts. In some of the stanzas you start several of the lines with the same sound (and/and/and, deep/down/dirty, life/leavin/lovin). A nice bit of alliteration & poetry added to the mix. We can see this really swept you up. Blues can do that, esp electronic. (Electronic blues got its big push right here in Chicago...)
