Description

Captured back on 2/10/09, early in the morning, about .8 miles/1.287 kms from my abominable abode. I'm back after a couple of hectic days of wrestling with an unfortunate, and always untimely, corruption -- not a virus -- of my software, which I toiled over for many hours to correct. Toodles, and tallyho

I always find the pattern of knots in wood fascinating; the more so when I try to absorb the time they represent in the life of the tree. Excellent captures, Harry.

I love when you explore these worlds...the everyday sights that most people ignore, but which, to a photographer is a painting. I remember your other 'knots' pieces too, and I loved them as well. Here, you seem to be doing an "alternating" montage, from a join (with a line down the wood) to a big old knot in the middle. It's a nice musical sequence. And of course—centrally—the knots themselves are great to look at. There are artists who paint/photograph nothing but: Decay, natural process, the cracks and crevices created by nature & age. I think they're beautiful. Some people would call this "minimalist" photography, but when you look closely, there's a whole world going on in each. Another of the things you love to present here. Fun & visually fine, as always. PS—so glad you conquered the digital woes. Computers can be mean—glad your computer got its rebellion out of its system, and is behaving now. They do have a way of enjoying our travail, don't they...
