Description
This image is dedicated to Peggy (Pearl3D). She is a wonderful lady that has been a dear friend to me for a long time. Peggy is a vendor and creates some of the most wonderful products out there. She can do almost anything when it comes to art as she does work in Poser and Mixed Medium. I'm lucky she has been with me through good times and bad for both of us and her friendship is important to me. I've wanted to do a dedication to her for a long time and I was so thrilled when she finally agreed. Peggy was afraid she couldn't think of any fun memories until recently she got a new cat after her two older cats passed on. Her new cat reminded her of her first kitty from long ago named Kosjka, and one of the many fun memories she had of him.
Quest For Kosjka (For Pearl3D): One evening Peggy's parents went out for the night and they got her cousin Gigl to babysit their kids. Peggy, her sister Iris and her brother Pascal had fun playing until it was time for bed. Gigl asked them to pick up their toys and put them in the closet. Finally Peggy and her siblings were ready for bed when she noticed her cat Kosjka was gone! The kids searched all over the house, turning it upside down. Gigl thought the kitty must be outside, and they could search for her tomorrow. Little Peggy got so upset and refused to go to bed if her kitty was outside in the cold. She put on a very dramatic scene until Gigl finally agreed to help them search. All the kids, still in their pajamas took flashlights and went into the streets late at night to search for Kosjka. Peggy and her siblings searched for a long time and it became a big adventure. After a while Gigl convinced them to go home, but Peggy was so sad and worried about Kosjka. When they got home they heard a noise from the closet where they put their toys earlier. Her sister Iris opened the door and out ran their precious Kosjka. He leaped into Peggy's arms and she was so happy. She took him to her bed and hugged him in her arms all night, never wanting to let him get lost again.

it's such a lovely memory, and of course you share it with your usual sense of gentleness & love, celebrating childhood lights once more...First (the art): Again, you've rendered children with great subtlety and love for the way they move & connect. Pascal is turned so nicely; even the wrinkles in his pajamas are so nicely done. His feet are so naturally laid over each other. Peggy is so nicely envisioned, leaning back in joy & surprise: She's motion & balance all at once. You've even got Kosjka digging in (lol) and the two faces squaring off in surprise. I love Iris's slippers, and her in-motion glance at her sister; and Gigi stands behind them casting the biggest shadow (lol—she's the babysitter!) also in a complex pose, in motion but looking on in happiness. And I love the stuff visible in the closet: It's vivid & clear & makes me want to go in & see what else is stacked in there! (Nice big ball!) And then your usual 'incidentals', like that great material the lamp-base is made of, the single track-light, or those two paintings which you've angled & adjusted perfectly for the point-of-view; and I swore that the first painting—nearest us—was a fractal! Wouldn't that be something, Peggy's childhood home had a fractal! Well I know it's flowers, but really, if you look in a certain light (lol)...(Also it's an open stucco & wood interior. You have these fascinating interiors, piece after piece. You sure you weren't an architect in your last life?) Finally, the offering: This has been up 2 days & 7 hours...and you have 5 pages of adoring responses! What greater gift could you give to a beloved friend? You take their tales & protect them like sacred jewels, you re-cast them & re-tell them & then put your visual magic to them—which I know takes you forever—and you present them with your usual gentle love, inviting everyone to come see them. And your 'honoree' has to look on and feel they've just been clothed in a cloak of love & golden light. Wonderful. My wishes to Peggy, and my bows to you for yet another magical offering which—along with your comments & letters—make you an institution here. You're one of a kind, dave, and everyone is so grateful that you're here.
