Description

I am thinking this was a recently emerged Butterfly because the colors were so vibrant and there was no damage to the wings at all. I usually see a fair number of the caterpillars of this species each year but not this one. I have only seen 2 or 3 very tiny ones but they quickly disappeared. I have posted images here that show the entire process from egg laying to egg to egg hatching to caterpillar moltings to cocoon to butterfly emergence. A side view tomorrow.
