Description

This might be the last of the iris shots for this year! Well ... no promises. It's the last one that's ready. :D This was one of my two favorites, the other being Lemon Meringue which I posted at the beginning of July. I think I like shooting iris blooms better than almost any other flower. They're so intriguing!

Great shot! Love the colour I love iris blooms as well, although this year, due to a complete digout of the garden and late replanting of the iris roots, there were very few blooms, although next year.....

I love this, and the title is perfect. Purple happens to be my favorite color as well...which I suspect is a Leo thing...but no matter, this is a great shot! I love the details, the richness of it (richness befits purple, after all...it is, indeed a color that was originally used only BY the rich, due to the difficulty in producing purple dye.) Great work on this. I agree that the curves and natural sweeps are astounding.

Stunning Tara! Love the colors and texture but the swirling petals form an all together different image. Like a floral maze. Dana

SWEET!!! My grandfather had several varieties growing in is garden. People came from all over to just see them as they are so rare and hard to grow here. This is not only a beautiful capture, but a wonderful trip down memory lane for me.
