Description

Captured 8/8/09, around 2 to 4PM, at a car show within walking distance of my placid place. Much, much better viewed full size. This auto show is an annual event held very close by, and usually features about 75-100 classics, along with many motorcycles and novelty vehicles. It is mainly staged by car clubs, with lots of vendors and fast food stands around, and is a very noisy affair with huge stereo speakers deafening the crowd with rock music, most of whom love their beer on a hot August day. Also, many scantly clad and well endowed young women in attendance to complement the macho males. I can live with that. I seriously doubt you will find a Chevy of this ilk down by the levee. As is my custom with auto shows, I blurred out the background in order to emphasize the main subject matter. The second foto reflects the Marilyn style method of aiming right down the middle in capturing images. Toodles, and tallyho.

Love the colour and style of this fine 'Vette', you've caught it well. The hood scoop and twin four barrel carbs look purposeful and add the right amount of attitude to make this car 'Mr Nasty'.

very nice sheen, Harry, very bold, and the contours are quite sensuous as well. I wonder what it must be like to stand in front of these cars, where the sunlight must cause them to flare and shine like ships from outer space. Very blue, very 'chrome'y, and I'm glad you gave us an interior shot too, as well as your homage to Marilyn for her head on frontal shots in all their glory. Full-size, it's nice to see the speckling in the chrome: I'm sure there's a name for that style, but you caught it well. This gallery is making me see cars all over again. I guess it's nice that you live in S. California, because in a lot of other places—Chicago, for instance—your saturated and striking light would be very hard to find & coax out. More fine car work from you, but that's been the norm in your gallery for a while...
