Description
Captured 8/15/09, in the early afternoon, at the beautiful Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in beautiful San Marino, California.
Although there is a garden area at the Huntington specifically reserved for roses, I found these beauties in some clumps of bushes, sitting all by themselves in the middle of a vast lawn. And if I hadn't seen the thorns on the branches, I wouldn't have known what species this was. They seem to be a variety of floribunda, but unlike any I've seen before.
Looks even better full size.
Toodles, and tallyho.

Fantastic images Harry! You did a stellar job capturing these beauties! I find it rather difficult to get the light settings perfect when photographing white flowers and you did a it perfectly! Bravo! :)

What Carin says I assume is true of many of your flower shots, as you've captured a number of white & light hued flowers, and they always have clarity and a bold presence. You also got a nice combination here, not only in the 1-1-2-1 montage, but in the directions, and in the variety of stamens. The full-view really reveals the almost paper-like quality of some of the petals, and in the third piece, the light & shade play beautifully off each other. I wouldn't have known these were roses at all...I'm no expert, but having drawn & studied roses, I can honestly say I've never seen anything like theseāa rustic & beautiful variety. And their whites are quite stunning too. More sensitive flower work, Harry.
