Description

Lt. Cmdr. Robert Kirk had over shot his target, his new F6F Hellcat’s Pratt & Whitney 2,000 horse power engine was translating into a whole lot of airspeed. More embarassing was overshooting a target while in site of his ship, he was bodly going into the hall of endless taunting if he did not finish off that ‘Zeke’ quickly. The F6F Hellcat turned the tide of the air war in the Pacific when introduced in 1943. With a maximum speed of 380 mph and a range of nearly 1,000 miles, Grumman’s carrier based fighter had closed the performance gap with the IJN Naval air craft of the period. Behold, He shall come up and fly like the eagle, And spread His wings over Bozrah; The heart of the mighty men of Edom in that day shall be Like the heart of a woman in birth pangs. A fine render in all aspects. Only thing, shouldn't the tracers from the zero and the zero be at the same angle?
